Apprentice Achiever

Stewart Needham is the region’s Apprentice of 2009. Stewart Needham was named the region’s Apprentice Personal Achiever of the Year Award.

The budding bricklayer was presented with his award by formerly incognito Perry McCarthy

– the original face behind the mask of Top Gear character ‘The Stig’. For Stewart the recognition was an extra boost after a year in which he started his own business at the age of 19. Stewart Needham was motivated to venture into the trade world after he struggled to find suitable work experience to complete his NVQ.

“Ever since then I have not looked back,” Stewart told the awards audience in Lincoln.
“I’ve had plenty of work and I am always improving the skills I have.”
“I’m pleased to win, but I didn’t expect it,”
“I’m proud of having worked hard and I’m learning a lot.”
